Disadvantages of Local Anaesthetic

The only real disadvantages of local anaesthetic is, firstly, due to the nature of how much anaesthetic is given and the way the veins are treated, most people need to have two to three visits per leg to get very good results. Secondly, anyone who does not want to be awake during their procedure is obviously not going to want a local anaesthetic. However, in our experience, we have found that, for every ten people who come to our clinic for vein treatments, eight of them are much more scared of having a general anaesthetic and insist on a local anaesthetic, one is scared of having a local anaesthetic and insists on having a general anaesthetic, and one is quite happy to have either local or general anaesthetic and expresses no preference.
